REVIEWS

This section is to provide a detailed review of noteworthy gigs the band have played. Only gigs of any importance or significance will be in this section.

Downpour gig at Brighouse Hall
Friday, March 14th 1997

It is fair to say that this gig was not the band's best. Having been formed for only a short while, the band was nervous and unsure of it's new songs. Most of the songs showed a little of the bands' potential but did not have the character or appeal of their later compositions. What was present was the band's energy and enthusiasm which remained clear throughout the gig. This gig was more of a taster of greater things to come. Of course the band would later change their time to the more palatable Glazed.

The First Ever Brigrock Night
Friday, March 13th 1998

This was a very important gig as it confirmed Glazed as the fathers of the Brigrock music movement. Supported by three other bands, C-Toan, Enamel Camel and Elm the gig was triumphant as the music played by all the bands was competent and interesting. C-Toan opened the gig with an instrumental medley of popular riffs and cut down versions of their usual songs.
Enamel Camel were next and they entertained the crowd with Stone Roses and Beatles covers. Elm came last before Glazed and their hugely entertaining brand of melodic punk warmed the crowd up brilliantly before the headliners hit the stage.
Glazed played a good set including some new songs. The sound quality was not that good, but all the bands had suffered from muddy sound. Their mix of punk and melodic rock kept the audience on their feet and the obligatory covers in the encore finished the set on a high. It seems that Brigrock is a complete success and hopefully more of these nights will be arranged in the future.

Glazed's first appearance at Bradford Rio's
Friday, 17th July 1998

After being bumped up from second support act to first Glazed prepared the crowds well for headliners, Krawl. Glazed played one of their more punk sets, pausing only to deliver Demands.
The set started with Crush and finished with a bang when the band played My House, much to the regular supporters' delight. Totalling only half an hour, this one of Glazed's shortest gigs so banter was kept to a minimum and the songs were reeled out quickly. This gig was important because it proved that Glazed could play to a predominantly heavy metal audience. This gig was the first step to wider appeal.

Glazed's good Greenbelt Festival performance
Saturday, 29th August 1998

The band had played the festival the previous year, but this year they seemed more focussed and had a greater selection of good songs. The band went on at half past eight at night and a truly magical moment was when the sun went down during Demands. The set ended on a suprise as the band played an unscheduled version of Song 2 in honour of John the drummer's birthday. Fan favourite Pint Glass was a hit with the festival crowd and, in particular, the many members of the Swedish tent.
Also playing the festival was fellow Brighouse band, Elm. They too delivered an excellent performance, a highlight being their punk cover of the hymn Amazing Grace.

The Star,
Thursday, 10th September 1998

This gig is mostly important because it was the final Brigrock event. Support came from C-Toan and the gig was somewhat of a sad event. Both bands put in great performances, but the audience knew that it was to be the last Brigrock night and that hung over their heads all night.
The gig also proved to be the starting point for the onslaught of rumours concerning the band. There was rumour that Jam and Dan had fought each other and fallen out, which was pure fiction. Another rumour was that the band had split, which the band strenuously denied, and on the 15th of October the band played an acoustic set to many at The Star, showing that they were still together.
The band then spent months writing new songs and practising.
